a Font with a Slashed Zero?The
linked font is the free Microsoft true type font (Andale Mono). The font was modified to change the zero which had a dot in the middle to a slash which is more familiar to amateur radio operators. If you already have the Microsoft font Andale Mono installed, you must remove it because no 2 fonts can have the same internal name. Install this font into Windows (all Windows apps. can use this font). This font installs just like any other True Type font does in Windows.
For DX4WIN users: Go into DX4WIN, File, Preferences, Screen and change the Input and Listbox fonts to Andale Mono and then save changes. That's all there is to it. Let me know what you think.

12 and 17 Meter YagiHere's
a nice little four element yagi for the 12 and 17 meter bands. It offers around 11 dBi of gain on each of the bands. The front-to-back ratio is 11.7 dB on 17 meters and 7.46 dB on 12 meters.

3 Element 6 Meter YagiI
recently ran across a post on the rec.radio.antenna newsgroup where a new ham was looking to purchase an antenna for the 6 meter band. As a result of that post I designed a nice 3 element yagi for 6 meters. This antenna has over 12 dBi of forward gain and a front to back ratio of about 17 dB.

A Simple Circuit to Quietly Key Your Amplifier
Featured in QST
This simple circuit was designed to allow my Kenwood TS-850 to key an external amplifier. The TS-850 has an internal relay that can switch the amp, but I like to run full-QSK CW and hated listening to that relay even when I was not running the amplifier. I noted that keyed 12 volts was available on the rear of the rig and needed a simple solution. Since I did not want to modify the amplifier, I made the circuit on perfboard and enclosed it in a small project case with RCA plugs for in and out. It is small enough to be easily added into most amplifiers.
